Background: On December 9, 2009, the President signed Executive Order (EO) 13522: Creating Labor-Management Forums to Improve Delivery of Government Services. The objective of EO 13522 is to establish a cooperative and productive form of labor-management relations throughout the Executive Branch. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss success factors for implementing Executive Order 13522 across the entire executive branch. The National Council on Federal Labor-Management Relations is the directing body for the government-wide effort, and is the organization sponsoring this presentation.
Description: The topics in this presentation include: How to establish Labor-Management Forums and how the activities of these forums lead to measureable results linked to larger organizational goals; the critical role you, as Agency leaders, have in ensuring the success of Labor-Management Forums; examples of how VA is successfully implementing this Executive Order, and guidance on how you can help your Agency succeed in developing this collaborative approach to labor-management relations.
